FIRST®

Registration - This is for both the students and for the parents. *Remember, you need to have separate accounts to get this done properly.

Competition Materials - Game Materials Page
  • A few years ago, FIRST® started collecting all of the links within their page, since then we no longer post the individual field component videos and such here.

Programming - References
  • We are programming in C++ for the robot, using Microsoft's Visual Studio Code. For many years the team used National Instrument's LabView. The link above is to the WPI site for FRC. There you'll find references for C++, Java  and LabView, which are all viable options for FRC Teams to utilize.

Motivational Literature

A company called Propel reached out, asking us to share a link to one of their pages with some information that we found is relevant to our organization. Others may not feel the same way, but we are comfortable in sharing with you all and believe all should give it a read. We have included an entire section of the e-mail, as it provides a good overview of what you will find in the link -

"In our industry the lack of manufacturing skills has created a skills gap and it's a serious issue going forward. One thing that is important is finding top talent to join the manufacturing force and breaking down the stigma that surrounds this world. We used some of our expertise and put together a manufacturing skills guide and included some insight on now we could solve this issue. I think it would be helpful for students interested in robotics that want to learn about a career in manufacturing."

Check it out: Manufacturing Skills Guide

Also, for those who are new to the industry we made definitions guide on the most important terms in manufacturing: Supply Chain Alphabet Soup: 52 Acronyms You Need to Know

We were contacted by Grace Coleman of the York Public Library working with Kelly of Maine FIRST® Team 4793, who found the following link while looking for resources for a 'Robotics and Engineering' workshop. Thank you Kelly!
